Dr Musa Baba visits General Hospital Damagum On Integrated Supportive Supervision.
The ES HMB Dr Musa Baba states that the supervision is to ensure the provision of qualitative service delivery.
He further states that with the provision of state of the art equipment and employment of more personnel by HE Gov Mai Mala Buni, there is no excuse whatsoever not to provide qualitative and effective service delivery.
The ES inspected some key service points in the hospital to ensure quality service delivery.
The ES advised the management and the staff of the hospital that:
1. Staff to ensure the provision of qualitative health care services through dedication and commitment.
2. Staff for close monitoring of patients during delivery as provided in the partograph. This will assess the progress of labour and as well as enable the midwives and the doctors to detect maternal or foetal problems for timely intervention.
3. Proper book-keeping of account records.
4. Proper use of laboratory equipment provided so that diagnosis can be made in time and treatment will be instituted to avoid morbidity and reduce mortality
4. Ensure availability of drugs and consumables for the timely institution of treatment.
The ES generally advised the staff to be more committed and dedicated to their duties.
Finally, The ES ask the staff to be patient-centred when discharging their duties, he added that the administration of HE Gov. Mai Mala Buni is focused on the provision of qualitative, affordable and effective health care services to the people of Yobe State.
Nonchalant attitudes by staff will be tolerated, while the best performing staff and the hospital will be rewarded accordingly.
