On Thursday, 27th July 2023, Yobe State Specialist Hospital Damaturu commences a 2-day intensive retreat for the senior management team of the hospital. While declaring the retreat open, the Chief Medical Director of State Specialist Hospital Damaturu Dr Usman Abba Geidam said the retreat will provide an opportunity to strengthen working relationships and teamwork among senior management team for improved performance in hospital service delivery
Also, according to the CMD among the retreat objectibes is to build capacity of management team in best practices of hospital administration and management for improved team productivity, provide enabling environment for interaction among management team on how best to improve service provision, strengthen internal procurement process, boost revenue and block financial leakages; and to facilitate discussions and provide guidance on strategic approaches for developing functional organizational structure for better coordination, collaboration and effective communication. The CMD further commended the Yobe State Government under the leadership of His Excellency the executive governor Hon Mai Mala Buni for his massive investment in the health sector and State Ministry of Health for providing the leadership in the sector.
The retreat will feature various presentations on best practices in hospital administration and management, compliant financial management, and human resource utilization, among other significant discussions. Also, the retreat participants will be exposed to a study tour at FMC Azare and directly engage with FMC top management for professional interactions related to hospital management for improved performance and productivity.
The retreat is attended by the senior management team and is being facilitated by an organizational development consultant.
