The ES Yobe State Hospitals Management Board Dr Musa Baba paid an unscheduled visit to YSSH Gashua after receiving complaints from some community leaders.
The ES Yobe State HMB Dr Musa Baba states at the meeting said His Excellency Gov. Mai Mala Buni has upgraded and provided the state of the art equipment in the facility, in addition more health workers were posted to the facility.
The hospital currently has 17 medical doctors including 4 regular visiting consultants providing quality health care service.
With the support from the indefatigable Honourable Commissioner Dr Muh’d Lawan Gana, the health sector in the state has benefitted more than any other sector, so to whom much is given much is expected.
Futher more, the ES states that we are here to address some critical issues to ensure a qualitative health care service delivery.
The ES further call on the management to ensure that:
1. All services must run for 24hrs services.
2. Absenteeism and late coming will not be tolerated.
3. Patients should be treated with uttermost respect.
4. Patients’ privacy should be protected.
5. All laboratory investigations must be completed within 24hour of collection of samples.
6. Anybody who is not authorised to issue laboratory results if found doing so will be sanction appropriately.
7. All payments to the hospital should be paid at the appropriate payment points and receipt must be collected.
8. Any unauthorised person found collecting money for service charge will be appropriately sanction.
9. Hospital assistants should maintain their status as assistant, they are not to administer medications in whatever form.
The community leaders laud the efforts and the leadership style of the ES for the prompt response to address the issues raised by the community.
The MD appreciates the ES for his stewardship to address the issues and also promised that all the issues raised will be addressed to improve good health care service delivery.
Finally, the ES task the community to report issues relating service failure or dissatisfaction of service delivered to the appropriate authority.
