Brief History
The Hospital Was Officially Commissioned On 31/March/1969, By Late Governor Brigadier Musa Usman Of Borno State, It Serves As Referral Centre For Medical Services Which Consists Of Some Localities Like, Damaturu, Fune, Fika, Nangere & Jakusko, Etc. The Hospital Was Expanded And Renovated In Different Regimes Especially During His Excellency Ibrahim Gaidam Tenure Almost All The Hospital Was Renovated Including Staff Quarters And Building Of Modern General Outpatient Department (GOPD). The Present Government Of His Excellency Mai Mala Buni. Continue To Bring More Development By Building Of Modern Special Baby Care Unit Renovation And Supply Of Some Modern Hospitals Equipment Under The Leadership Of Hardworking And Dedicated Commissioner Of Health Dr Mohammed Lawan Gana And His Team.
His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni Went Ahead And Upgraded The Hospital As “Yobe State Specialist Hospital Potiskum In March 2021. The Hospital Currently Has 307 Beds Capacity. Facility Rendering Specialized Medical Services 24 Hours.
