Dr. Abubakar Yerima: Advancing Healthcare Standards in Yobe State
Dr. Abubakar Yerima, appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Hospitals Management Board (HMB) on November 17, 2023, has been pivotal in driving improvements in healthcare delivery across the state. His leadership has focused on restructuring the board’s operational policies to align with global health standards, ensuring the provision of high-quality and efficient healthcare services.
Under his stewardship, the Hospitals Management Board oversees five specialist hospitals equipped to deliver advanced medical care at affordable rates and sixteen general hospitals dedicated to providing essential secondary healthcare. This well-structured system ensures equitable access to healthcare services for all residents of Yobe State.
Dr. Yerima places a strong emphasis on capacity building for healthcare professionals. Training programs are regularly conducted to enhance staff expertise in the effective use of medical equipment and maintaining cleanliness in hospital facilities. These initiatives are designed to uphold the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency.
