The Director of Pharmaceutical Services of Hospitals Management Board Pharm. Onyebuchi paid a supportive supervision visit to General Hospital Dapchi.
The DPS HMB had an interactive meeting with the facility managers and commended the managers for keeping the environment clean, he further proceeded to the pharmacy department to assess their operations and inventory.
He made the following observations and actions were taken:
A. Proper documentation of Free MNCH commodity utilization. DRF transactions between various units and pharmacy department should be made appropriately.
B. All drugs should be stored according to the standard storage system of drugs.
C. Need for Proper inventory taking to ensure drugs and medical consumables are always available.
D. A distinct demarcation is to be created between free MNCH commodities and DRF commodities to prevent mixed-up.
Finally, The DPS HMB thanked the management of the hospital for their full cooperation and promised them that he would re-visit the facility in two weeks to ensure compliance with the instructions. He also assured them of taking up some of the challenges to board for necessary actions.
