Supportive Supervision @ General Hospital Nangere

Today Wednesday 4th of October 2023, a team of Directors from the Hospital Management Board conducted a supportive supervision visit to General Hospital Nangere.

The purpose of this visit was to assess the level of service delivery at the hospital and provide guidance and support to enhance healthcare services.

The team had a brief meeting with the Hospital Management:
During this meeting, the Directors emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving the hospital’s objectives. They encouraged the hospital’s management to work together effectively and carry all staff members along in their pursuit of improved healthcare services.

Following the meeting, the team of Directors embarked on a comprehensive tour of the hospital’s facilities and various units to assess the level of services rendered. The tour covered the following key areas:

a. Outpatient Department (OPD): The team observed the flow of patients, waiting times, and interactions between healthcare providers and patients. They noted areas where efficiency could be improved.

b. Inpatient Wards: The Directors visited different wards, reviewed patient records, and interacted with nursing and medical staff to assess the quality of care provided to admitted patients. They also inspected the cleanliness and hygiene of the wards.

c. Laboratory and Diagnostic Services: The laboratory and diagnostic units were evaluated for the availability of essential equipment, quality of testing, and turnaround times for test results.

d. Pharmacy: The team assessed the pharmacy services, including medication availability, dispensing procedures, and level of utilization of Governor Buni expanded free MNCH at the facility.
