The Executive Secretary Hospital Management Board visit Women and Children Hospital Damaturu (WCH) on Integrated Supportive Supervision (ISS).

The ES HMB Dr Musa Baba is accompanied by the board directors which include: DFS HMB, DPM and Dir. Laboratory services visit Women and Children Hospital Damaturu on integrated supportive supervision to ensure quality, efficient and effective service delivery to patients.
Arriving at the facility the team inspect the facility to see the Infrastructural upgrade and standard of care. The team observed a significant improvement and lauds the efforts of the facility managers.
The ES HMB Dr Musa Baba said improving maternal health is key to saving the lives of more than half a million women who die as a result of complications from pregnancy and childbirth each year. He added that the facility is the largest women and children hospital in Yobe state and aimed at becoming the best WCH in the region.
The hospital which has been equipped with state of the art equipment by HE Gov. Mai Mala Buni administration with modern facilities can compete with other health facilities across the country. Statistics show a high mortality rate of women and children in the region due to the insurgency and other diseases but the case is not bad in Yobe State.
However, the ES Enjoin the staff to ensure:
(1) Quality, effective and efficient service delivery.
(2) Financial management, financial regulations and accountability.
(3) Dedication and teamwork.
(4) Leadership and responsibility.
(5) Rewards and discipline
Furthermore, the Hospital Secretary on behalf of the facility staff reassured their commitment to take the facility to next level by providing the best and most modern health services to women and children in the State.
Finally, the ES assured the staff of his continuous support on capacity building, training and retraining of staff. He also encouraged/enjoin the medical doctors on residency training to become consultants. This became necessary especially at the time when the government of his excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni is upgrading the hospitals from general hospitals to specialist hospitals to provide specialist care to the patients.
